HASTAVI
Objects of Heritage
We begin with Bidri — a silver-inlay craft from Bidar, Karnataka. Each piece connects traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design.
Our Story
HASTAVI is a house for objects with a place, a process and a person behind them. We start in Bidar, a small town in Karnataka carrying one of India's more distinctive metal-inlay traditions — and bring it to a considered, contemporary audience.
Bidri is our first collection. It won't be our last. As we verify and build relationships with makers in other crafts and regions, HASTAVI will grow into objects, art and pieces for the home — always led by the maker's story first.

The Craft
Bidri takes its name from Bidar, the town where the technique is practised: a base metal is cast, hand-engraved, and inlaid with silver, then finished to a deep, matte black that makes the inlay stand out. We're building a fuller account of the process and will add material and technique details as they are confirmed with our craft partners.

The Artisans
We're building direct, transparent relationships with our artisan partners in Bidar. Individual profiles are being verified before publishing.
